Are you a budding Pavarotti? Fancy yourself as the new Russell Watson or Katherine Kenkins? Or perhaps you just enjoy a sing in the shower?

Basildon Choral Society in concert

Amazing choir (Perpetuum Jazzile) uses their hands to simulate storm

The thing I love about singing with choirs is the phenomenal range of music, styles and singers. Take a look at this choir, Perpetuum Jazzile, Slovenia’s only jazz choir, simulating a storm with their fingers, hands and feet, before leading into a chorus with strong African themes.

UPDATE: Choral Society Chairman interviewed for Gateway 97.8

Apologies to anyone who tuned into Gateway on Wednesday, expecting to hear the interview with BCS Chairman Geoff Williams. In the end it was not a live interview, but a pre-record for broadcast on Monday 15th November, during the afternoon.

Exchange with the vicar at Kraftshof

Lieber Herr Kopp

Geoff Williams

Dear Mr Kopp,

I am writing to you on behalf of Basildon Choral Society to thank you for letting us sing in your church, the week before last.

On the following Wednesday we also sang in the Gößweinstein Basilica and, overall, we spent a marvellous week in Franconia.

Yours,

Geoff Williams

Lieber Herr Williams,

Chr. Kopp

Dear Mr Williams,

Unfortunately after half-an-hour I had to leave for an appointment – I really enjoyed the concert. During one of the pieces I had tears in my eyes, it was so beautiful.  Many people wanted to come but couldn’t.

Many thanks and greetings to Britain.

Yours,

Christian Kopp.

John Randall’s Arundel 2010 photos

John Randall sent through a selection of pics he snapped at Arundel this year. They’ve all been added to Flickr as well as put in a gallery here. I particularly love the one of the three basses!

Bavarian photos

These are some of my favourites from the fifty or so pictures of our Bavarian trip so far submitted. You can see the rest by looking at our Flickr photostream! I am sure there are many, many more lovely pictures out there. Why not email them to choirpics@basildonchoral.org? (And tell me you’ve done it so that I can put details of who took them in the description!)
